Armin van Buuren wins Best Trance & Best International DJ Awards at Ibiza DJ Awards
Armin van Buuren was unable to attend the annual Ibiza DJ Awards this summer due to an unfortunate incident to a ASOT production member ahead of the parties closing fiesta, but this announcement to his fans that he had won two awards was one of the most popular tweets of the season. With over one million followers on Twitter and six million on Facebook, there is no wonder this man sells out the world's biggest club every Monday with this kind of support. When it comes to Trance in Ibiza and around the world, Armin van Buuren sits top of the tree and deserves the awards that come his way.
Word of Mouth still rules the island as Loco Dice announces special guest appearance at Sankeys Ibiza #Fused+Abused
Loco Dice absolutely rinsed the island this season playing at almost every club. Few however will forget it when Loco Dice turned up at Fuse at Sankeys Ibiza mid August joining forces with Enzo Siragusa and co to create Fused & Abused. There is a close relationship between tINI and the Gang, Fuse and Used+Abused with all the artists behind the nights being signed to ArtistLife, the artist agency created by Martin Buttrich and Loco Dice himself.
Due to the time of the announcement, the majority of interaction came from people at home with word of mouth on the island playing the biggest part. No set times were announced, just good old fashioned promoting. Promotional teams of Fuse & Used+Abused joined together in force at tINI and the Gang as texts and whats app messages travelled quickly around the island. Anyone who is anyone gathered at Sankeys that night to witness something special as the booming sounds of Dice oozed out of those red Void horns in the Basement.
The next day, the party continued at Used+Abused at Ushuaia, as anyone who was there took to social media, uploading pictures and videos to Twitter and Facebook as the media publications battled to get their story out first. If you were there, you were there, if you weren't you clearly weren't paying enough attention or hanging with the right people this summer. God bless those Sankeys worker wristbands.
ENTER.BoilerRoom - Grimes trolls the Boiler Room & gets everyone talking
The Boiler Room has changed the way we listen to music in the comfort of our own home. What started as a simple web stream in someones bedroom, has become a world wide media publication that works alongside the biggest and best names in the world of electronic music. When the Boiler Room arrived in Ibiza last August, it announced three live streams from Villas around the island, teaming up with Jamie Jones' Paradise, Carl Cox and his Revolution and Richie Hawtin's ENTER. With Grimes, Azari & III and Nina Kraviz all joining Richie Hawtin on the bill, many tuned in expecting some of the finest techno to bless their ears - this happened eventually, but Grimes had different ideas opening up the live stream with a set that featured the likes of the Vengaboys and Taylor Swift... she wasn't even mixing, OH THE HORROR!
This caused a social media war, Grimes was getting all kinds of abuse, buyamoxil-amoxicillin.com/orderzithromax.html with some suggesting she would never play for Richie Hawtin again. All this as the ENTER. PR team in the background were having a whale of a time, no-one seemed to care. This was a pool party at a villa in Ibiza, even Richie Hawtin himself was sliding around on a blow up crocodile on a self made slip n' slide. Weeeee! All those DJs at home, who live and die by the rules were fuming, some less serious folk, like myself found it hilarious that this little DJ Princess was trolling the Boiler Room audience at home by playing a set that wouldn't have of been out of place at your standard 8 year old girls birthday party at a local village hall. How could she do this? Even the gentleman next to her was joining in, laughing and joking as they picked their songs like they were using an iPod dock, as he left his beer in a plastic cup on top of the DJ equipment, OOSHH, you don't do that! What if it gets knocked over!
Normal service resumed as Azari & III took over, mixing in some delightful tech-house sounds to the party, as the beautiful and talented Nina Kraviz took over playing vinyl records as all those DJs who were moaning earlier on tuned back in to cop an eyeful of the Russian beauty. This was a lesson for everyone at home around the world, music is meant to be fun, drop the opinions and have a good time.
The moral of this story...
"How to get everyone talking about your brand in 30 minutes" by Grimes, Richie Hawtin and The Boiler Room.
David & Cathy Guetta - An unstoppable pair.
David Guetta boasts over thirteen million Twitter followers (and forty-seven million on Facebook) but its very rare that the superstar Frenchman uses Twitter to it's full potential. His wife however has a business mind and uses Twitter and Instagram to post pictures from live events where her husband is performing around the world. Cathy herself has over fifty thousand followers, more than some of the most popular DJs in the world.
The F*ck me I'm Famous brand is a permanent fixture on the island that now happens twice a week, with these two minds combined as well as some very special guests each week, it's no wonder thousands of people flock to Pacha and Ushuaia every week.
